KRAAAANG!!

GUITAR!!!!

That being said, you can see why i haven't updated in a week or so. (Well, that and this happens to be my week of Java hell.) I've been practicing my fool head off, slowly remembering simplified chord changes and relearning all the stuff I've forgotten, sans amp. I'm looking at an amp that once belonged to a member of Rectangle, which is pretty cool, because he used it on their Prowl Across the Arctic EP (You can download the song "Polar Bear" from there, and I highly recommend that you do so RIGHT NOW), which we've been waking up to every morning for a month or so now, so I know what the sound quality is like, for the most part, and I really dig it.
Till then I'm plowing along at a snail's pace because I don't have my callouses back yet, and it's kinda painful.

I mentioned my week of Java hell earlier. My company paid Sun Microsystems $2000 so that I could sit in a classroom for one week and they could teach me everything there is to know about Java. Yes, you heard me right. Everything there is to know about Java in ONE WEEK. The class assumes that you are a hardcore C or C++ developer, which I am NOT, but apparently I learned enough C in my abortive attempt at becoming a comp sci major that I'm really not having any problems so far. And my opinion of hardcore C++ developers is that they're all apparently as dumb as bricks. I'm having the same problem that I always have when I take classes, and that is that nobody seems to move at my speed. Even for a one-week class that's supposedly cramming in all this material is feeling slow as molasses to me. So consequently I spend a great deal of time tuning out the stuff the instructor keeps going over that I've already got down cold, and missing the intros to a lot of stuff we HAVEN'T learned yet. Story of my life, wah wah wah.

So by the end of the week, I'll be a different person. A person who knows just about everything there is to know about Java barring having actual development experience. Pray for me. I'll need it.
