Noisepop 2002: Ghost Orchids, Adult, I Am Spoonbender, & The Faint

Tonight's fare: Ghost Orchids, Adult, I Am Spoonbender & The Faint.

I actually thought Ghost Orchids were the best band of the four. The rest of the show bored me. It was more interesting watching all the people dressed in their New Wave gear (I felt woefully underdressed) and listening to Bee twist the brain of the mousy little girl next to us. The Faint covered Sonic Youth, which, I'm sorry, is fucking blasphemy. Even if it's bad, late Sonic Youth.

Ghost Orchids is a great band name. What do they sound like? (And you are absolutely right about the blasphemous Faint. Jeez!)

Ghost Orchids sound a lot like if you mashed the Cure and Joy Division together. So, good for nostalgia, but not something I'd go see over and over, like Replicator.
